Meet Santosh Gauriar

Santosh Gauriar is an Indian author, traveler, and former senior government official known for his passion for road journeys and nature exploration. After a distinguished public service career, he retired in 2012 as Member (PSB) in the Ministry of Communication, Government of India, New Delhi. With a rich academic background that includes a Master’s in Science, Bachelor of Laws, M.Phil, Master’s Diploma in Public Administration, and Diploma in Photography, he brings intellectual depth and curiosity to all his pursuits.

A lifelong explorer, Santosh Gauriar is deeply inspired by India’s wildlife, forests, landscapes, and birdlife. His interests span trekking, camping, nature photography, and ornithology, making him a true outdoor enthusiast. Over decades, he has travelled extensively across India—driving through highways, remote regions, national parks, mountains, and coastal belts—documenting the diverse beauty and cultural richness of the country.
